Disabled Writers is a resource to help editors connect with disabled writers and journalists, and journalists connect with disabled sources. Our goal is specifically to promote paid opportunities for multiply marginalized members of the disability community, and to encourage editors and journalists to think of disabled people for stories that stretch beyond disability issues.

I have written five screenplays, three plays, a novel and a half, and I have a blog. I am also composing an opera and writing a musical. I have written everything from articles on homelessness to SEO to health articles. I have scoliosis, herniated discs, sciatica, and plantar fasciitis, leaving me unable to stand and walk for long periods and making frequent lifting and bending painful and unsafe. I have been denied Social Security Disability on the grounds that I can do sedentary work, yet I have a 0.3% application to interview response rate (and a 33% interview to hire rate).
