Disabled Writers is a resource to help editors connect with disabled writers and journalists, and journalists connect with disabled sources. Our goal is specifically to promote paid opportunities for multiply marginalized members of the disability community, and to encourage editors and journalists to think of disabled people for stories that stretch beyond disability issues.

Laura is a writer, podcast host, and freelance journalist and copywriter. She hosts In Visibility Today, a monthly disability politics and current affairs podcast, and writes on feminism, disability, healthcare, and politics at The Huffington Post blog and on Medium. She has been featured in the i newspaper and the Metro, discussing mental healthcare in the UK and body positivity with chronic illness. 

Besides her more recent work, she was previously the Commissioning Editor at a UK agricultural publishing house, and offers proofreading and copy-editing services on a freelance basis. She has been a theatre reviewer, producer, and script writer at the Edinburgh Fringe, a book reviewer and feature writer for various arts magazines, and holds a BA (hons) in English Language & Literature, and an MA in Broadcast Journalism.
