Disabled Writers is a resource to help editors connect with disabled writers and journalists, and journalists connect with disabled sources. Our goal is specifically to promote paid opportunities for multiply marginalized members of the disability community, and to encourage editors and journalists to think of disabled people for stories that stretch beyond disability issues.

Heidi is a health and wellness researcher and freelance writer. She has degrees in biology and German language/culture and has minors in chemistry and public health. After graduation, she conducted a research study in India that focused on barriers to sexual health resources in rural Uttar Pradesh. She is also published in academic journals for her research on liver disease and its connection to obesity. Currently, she writes for her blog, chronicallysalty.com, which focuses on tips and tricks to navigating life with chronic illness.
