Disabled Writers is a resource to help editors connect with disabled writers and journalists, and journalists connect with disabled sources. Our goal is specifically to promote paid opportunities for multiply marginalized members of the disability community, and to encourage editors and journalists to think of disabled people for stories that stretch beyond disability issues.

Contact August: august at writersguidetolife.org

I'm a freelance writer, blogger, and social media manager. I founded Survival is a Talent, a mental health blog featuring stories of survival. I also founded Writer's Guide to Life. A personal essay and a poem of mine about living with a mental illness have been published in anthologies available in stores. My personal essays, blog posts, and articles have appeared on websites, including The Mighty and Thought Catalog. I'm a contributor for Voices of Mental Health and Your Happy Place. I'm a self-care ambassador for Health Storylines, publishing sponsored blog posts. I've worked with brands like Jittery Monks, nOCD, Thrive, and Only Top Reviews. My readers enjoy my writing because it is honest and relatable with poetic elements.
